Spring collection

This year's Spring exhibition promises to be a visual feast, featuring another fabulous  selection of works from both emerging and established artists.

Amongst of the highlights of the exhibition is the inclusion of works by Ellis King, Olly Howe, JBoy, Carl Stimpson, together with regulars to the gallery, David Bray, Nancy Guerrero, Magda Archer, Ange Bell, Sarah Maple and Mr Edwards. The exhibition has also works by internationally renowned artists such as Shepard Fairey, Aryz, Michael Reeder and Banksy.

These artists bring their unique perspectives and styles to the gallery, creating a diverse and dynamic collection that is sure to wow visitors.

To provide some context for the exhibition, I asked several artists to share a brief description of their work. Here's what they had to say:

Love & Sacrifice by Ellis King
"This piece explores the raw vulnerability of parenthood—the boundless love, the unseen limits, and the moments that feel like we are losing ourselves. Bold, graffiti-like marks reflect both childhood innocence and the way we are exposed, even unknowingly. Bright, joyful colors juxtapose this deep sentiment because life is never just one thing—it is love and loss, joy and exhaustion, all at once".

Momento by Olly Howe
"My work explores the intricacies and beauty of the human mind, captured in a moment, the visualisation of a dreamlike state. The meaning of Momento is a moment in time, suspended between past and future, a still-life of human emotions, testament to the power of experience and our connection to the world around us…"

MC001 by Carl Stimpson
"MC001 is the first piece in a new series of mixed-media works, featuring a repurposed hand-painted study, (originally created for another painting with a racing driver with a face stripe). Inspired by the worn walls I use as outdoor canvases, I wanted to capture that essence in a framed piece. I used a mixture of ripping, sanding and layering collage with acrylics, screenprint and spray paint to create a sense of wear. The work explores the clash between creation and decay, as well as the imperfections that define street art. Essentially, I’m just having a lot of fun with it."

Smile by JBoy
"This captures the struggle of maintaining a cheerful facade while the dark symbolizes the hidden intricacies beneath the surface, whereas the oversized bright yellow smiley umbrella represents the outwardly happy mask. As the umbrella gets slowly washed away by its surroundings, it serves as a visual reminder to embrace your true self, as that's where genuine happiness lies".

The Heath Kane Gallery's Spring exhibition is not just about showcasing art; it's about creating a space where art and life intersect. Whether you're an avid art collector or simply looking for a unique cultural experience, this exhibition is not to be missed. For more information, check out the online collection.
