Flying Leaps: Art on the Streets at FirstSite

Flying Leaps: Art on the Streets at FirstSite

My collaboration with Flying Leaps to produce "Second Class" - a political art piece themed around the mishandling of Brexit is making its way to an exhibition at Firstsite gallery in Colchester. The exhibition is on from Saturday 22 Sept 2018 to Sunday 6 Jan 2019.

This Firstsite presentation includes posters created by artists Magda Archer, Dolores De Sade, Jeremy Deller, Dr. D/Subvertiser, kennardphillips, Oddly Head, Simon Roberts, Mark Titchner and myself (Heath Kane).

Firstsite describes the show as follows:

A collaboration with flyingleaps, an organisation that commissions artists to create posters in response to contemporary politics, events and ideas.

Flyingleaps say:

Art on the streets is part of Firstsite’s programme theme of Conflict and Culture. It is exhibited alongside Not Yet At Ease, by Delhi based artists Raqs Media Collective. Co-commissioned by Firstsite and 14-18 Now, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary, Not Yet At Ease is an ambitious project exploring the interlinked histories of war, poetry and mental health.
